This summer, CIEE Work & Travel USA introduces an incredible opportunity for international students: The CIEE Civic Leadership Summit!

Held on the campus of American University, the CIEE Civic Leadership Summit is an exciting, and important, new event that brings together Work & Travel USA participants from around the world. Over four days in August, students will gather in Washington, D.C. for a dynamic exchange on culture and civil society.

In line with our mission as the world leader in cultural exchange, the goal of the CIEE Civic Leadership Summit is to empower and inspire our incredible participants while enhancing their cultural experience here in the U.S.

By creating this premier opportunity and bringing together passionate students from across the globe, CIEE and our partners are once again elevating the Work & Travel USA experience, making the program the only choice for international students serious about making the most of their time in America.

100 students will be awarded a fellowship to spend August 5-8, 2013 in the nation’s capital:

 

1.       Meeting new people

2.       Hearing from experts in the field of civil society

3.       Sharing their own unique perspectives on social justice and civic leadership

4.       Exploring one of the country’s most beautiful and exciting cities

 

Students will be selected based upon the merit of a video or written essay that describes the experiences and perspectives they hope to gain as CIEE Work & Travel USA participants.
